Hello Friend Darcey- I'm sorry I let two whole days go by before I found your ping. I've been busy with all the first of the month stuff I have to do. Also I always get morbid during the holidays, and try not to spread the gloom around.
I love the walk with you down to water to watch the ducks and kangaroos. I think because of our long dry spell a lot of our rabbits, ducks, doves and quail are gone missing. Just last year every day except in winter I would see quail scurrying around in pairs and later in families and larger flocks. I have seen only one or two quail all year and only a dozen or so doves. Lots of big crows, and quite a few woodpeckers, blue jays, and starlings. In the winter months we get a kind of junco, a little bird with a black cap. When my friend Daniel and his wife Corrie were here last Saturday night they were struck by the absolute silence. I'm quite deaf with a ringing in my ears so I haven't noticed it except I haven't heard any coyote serenades lately.
Tiger Tommy is sitting right next to me. He is getting more social with the other cats, and was actually playing with my tattered long haired tuxedo cat Mr. Chips.
